GMR VTI organises a job fair to commemorate its 10 th anniversary

New Delhi, June 30, 2023: GMR Vocational Training Institute Delhi (GMR VTI), supported by Delhi International Airport Ltd, helped 125 under-privileged students secure job opportunities through a four-day job fair.

Job offers generated during the just concluded job fair were handed over to the successful candidates by Gen (Retd) Dr. VK Singh, Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways and Civil Aviation, during a ceremony at the institute to commemorate GMR VTI’s 10 th anniversary.

During the ceremony, Gen. Singh interacted with the officials and students of GMR VTI and wished the successful candidates a bright future ahead. He also appreciated GMR VTI’s efforts towards helping students from socially weaker sections in skilling and securing job opportunities.

The GMR VTI has been constantly working towards its commitment of providing socio-economic development to underprivileged students through skill training and by helping them secure sustainable employment opportunities.

The job fair witnessed active participation from private companies, placement providers, vocational training providers, education practitioners, NGOs, and youth. Through a series of panel discussions and deliberations on skill development, the fair provided a platform for students and alumni to secure a launching platform. More than 35 companies and 500 youth attended the job fair, with 125 candidates receiving confirmed job offers during the fair.

GMR VTI Delhi, supported by Delhi International Airport Ltd, has been instrumental in training over 10000 youths from the Delhi NCR and northern India region since its establishment in 2013. With a placement rate of more than 85%, the institute offers 13 different courses and trains over 1200 youth annually.

The institute provides essential skills and working knowledge in sectors such as aviation, hospitality, banking and sales, and technical subjects. Its skill development program specifically targets underprivileged youth who have dropped out of school or college, empowering them with short-term vocational skills and facilitating entry-level jobs or entrepreneurship opportunities.

GMR Varalakshmi Foundation (GMRVF) serves as the corporate social responsibility arm of the GMR Group. For the past two decades, GMRVF has been dedicated to building market-relevant skills, employability, and entrepreneurship among students through its Vocational Training Institutes (VTI).
