The Schulich school of business to launch MBA and Executive Education Programs at ITS GMR campus in Hyderabad

GMR Group, one of the world’s leading infrastructure developers, and the Schulich School of Business of York University in Toronto, Canada, today announced that they have entered into an understanding to develop a Schulich campus in Hyderabad, India.

Schulichs GMR Campus will be the first full fledged campus of a major, top ranked international business school in India. It will operate as a seamless extension of Schulichs Canadian campus, ensuring the same high quality of programmes, faculty and students. This new campus in India will significantly reduce the cost of international education for the student community, who will benefit from the lower cost of living in India.

The Schulich School of Business, which is a public, non profit institution, will initially offer its two year MBA programme to 120 students at the Hyderabad campus, along with Executive Education programmes. Under the agreement, Schulich will develop the learning environment and academic infrastructure while the GMR Group will provide the land and the physical campus. This campus will represent a substantial, long term capital investment in “bricks and mortar” to provide a state of the art setting for students, faculty, staff and executives. Subject to approval under the Foreign Educational Institutions Bill currently before the Indian Parliament and final approvals by the Boards of York University and the GMR Group, admissions would commence no later than 2013.
