Smart Meter Project

Operational since January 2025, the Kashi Smart Meter Project involves deployment of approximately 27.3 lakh smart meters across ~20,183 sq km in eastern Uttar Pradesh under a program awarded by Purvanchal Vidyut Vitaran Nigam Limited (PuVVNL). The rollout is scheduled over 27 months, followed by a 93-month operations and maintenance period, and serves a consumer base with an approximate rural–urban mix of 80:20.
